From an untouched petal-like creature to a body increasingly marked and distorted, the series uses body-cupping as a central device to explore the illusion of bodily “wholeness”. Under close examination, we find that this illusion reveals not damage or degradation, but rather a sense of transformation—an opening up of new possibilities for an unbound and evolving self. Utilising a cold and utilitarian graphic art direction, the series evokes memories of turn-of-the-century scientific journals—excavated detritus of a past long forgotten
